Colony VS Cage Breeding

In birds breeding there are two types of breeding process:

1. COLONY BREEDING.
2. CAGE OR PORTION WISE BREEDING.

Both breeding are different from each other but if you breed them for earning purpose than the Cage/Portion wise breeding is best.Now the question is why? Cage or Portion wise breeding so,here is the Ans:
CAGE OR PORTION WISE BREEDING
in cage wise breeding you know that which pair gives you best breed and its easy way to know about the progress of the pair Let,you ha 4 Pair of Lovebirds and a 4 portion iron/wood cage.You
take 1 pair in each portion and breed them after 1 month the results comes that:

• Pair # 1 (gives 3 Chicks out of 4 eggs)
• Pair # 2 (gives 2 chicks out of 3 eggs)
• Pair # 3 (gives 4 chicks out of 5 eggs)
• Pair # 4 (gives 0 chicks out of 4 eggs)

in that case you know the progress report of your bird the bird who's give you not give you better bree like pair # 4 you have to replace it with other bird or you have to sell it in the market but before you sell it check your birds gender is they confirm male/female or male age is good for breeding some time male age is not good for breeding and in that case the fertility is not works and eggs which female lay after mating are not fertile and eggs are gone unrfertile.

COLONY BREEDING;


Colony Breeding involves having more than one male and female together in a cage or a shed with one or more breeding boxes which are available for breeding purposes.
Now in colony breeding the first thing is that you have more space than portion wise breeding and you can get more breeder pairs at short space but if the colony breeding have many profits it also have many Loses:

 Profits of colony Breeding:

• In short space you can kept many birds in only 1 cage.
• The birds you kept in colony always be very happy.
• In colony there is a good space of flying therefore birds sicks chances are become very less.
• in cleaning purpose you have to clean only floor of the colony but in cage you have to clean all portions and it takes more time.
• You can starts colony in Less Money.

LOSE Reasons in Colony Breeding:

• in colony breeding if one pair is sick than he/she sicks all the colony birds. 

•  in colony breeding you didn't know the per pair progress. 

•  in colony breeding the pairs you selected for breeding are got broken and the pair you selected male set pair with other female and the pair you selected female sets pair with other male.
